Educating the next generation of advocates is core to our values as a profession and chapter. This year, NASW-DE and NASW-NJ are hosting an Legislative Education & Advocacy Day (LEAD) day on March 29th, 2022. This event will bring together social work students and professionals from across Delaware and New Jersey to learn about and discuss policy issues affecting our states and how to utilize our Code of Ethics to advocate for the advancement of social justice.
LEAD is designed to further social workers’ knowledge of the legislative process, grassroots advocacy, and major current statewide policy initiatives. Attendees hear from an array of passionate speakers from elected officials, the government sector, community organizers, and advocates.
This year, due to COVID-19 restrictions, LEAD will be held virtually, but that hasn't impacted our lineup of great speakers and timely, relevant topics for discussion!
